First of all, a disclaimer. I will kill anyone who thinks this movie sucks. Kill. With no remorse. Now that it's out of the way, allow me to say that this is quite possibly the movie of the year. Many of you would suspect that it is a very biased view, and I can't deny that this is 150 mins of condensed childhood memories. But anyone would be hard-pressed to find an action movie with such tight pacing and filler moments that hardly ever exceed a few minutes at a time. Transformers is Michael Bay at his best, and after the horror show that is Pearl Harbor, he needed this as much as the fans of this franchise.
I naturally went into the theatre with some apprehension. What if it didn't live up to the hype? What if Bay's pulled a Pearl Harbor instead of The Rock? All those doubt dissipated with Blackout's entry; that moment was the indicator that this movie will deliver. And man does it deliver. The painstakingly detailed designs and intricately fluid movement of the robots, the funny dialogue, the outstanding voice acting, and the great action sequences make this a great movie.
I've watched it twice in the theatres, and plan on watching it again before the run ends. It is that good. If you haven't watched it you're an idiot, because no one in his right mind would want to give this a miss. Forget Harry Potter, Pirates and Fantastic Four, this is the movie you will regret not watching.
